McDonald's has filed a trademark for a restaurant in the metaverse that will actually deliver food to your home

McDonald's has filed a series of trademarks for a virtual restaurant that will deliver food online and in person.
The company filed 10 trademark applications to the US Patent and Trademark Office February 4 covering both McDonald's and McCafe.
One of the trademarks was for "virtual food and beverage products," including NFTs, while another included "operating a virtual restaurant online featuring home delivery." It also trademarked entertainment services and events under the McDonald's and McCafe brands, including "online actual and virtual concerts."

Gucci plans virtual world for Gen Z on The Sandbox

Gucci will launch its own virtual world on digital real estate platform The Sandbox, as it expands its presence in the metaverse for its Gen Z-focused platform Gucci Vault.
The brand has purchased an undisclosed amount of land on The Sandbox, which lets people and brands buy and develop virtual real estate.
Gucci and The Sandbox will create an interactive fashion experience based on Gucci Vault, described by Gucci as an experimental space envisioned by Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, which houses its metaverse projects.

McDonald’s and Panera Bread file trademarks for NFTs in the metaverse

Panera Bread’s trademark application, meanwhile, is slightly different and allows the company to have NFTs serve as digital currency to purchase virtual food and beverages.
Panera filed a trademark for the name “Paneraverse” under which the company intends to develop virtual restaurants and real-life food delivery applications.
“Panera is always working to be at the forefront of tech advancement – as a brand we are consistently looking for new ways to better our guest experience, whether in our cafes or in the metaverse,” Panera chief digital officer George Hanson said in a statement sent to Nation’s Restaurant News.

Disney Readies Metaverse Push as CEO Calls it 'Next Great Storytelling Frontier'

The mouse house is making big moves in the space, today announcing the creation of a new position to oversee its metaverse plans.
"This is the so-called metaverse, which I believe is the next great storytelling frontier and the perfect place to pursue our strategic pillars of Storytelling Excellence, Innovation, and Audience Focus," Chapek wrote.
"Teams across the company are exploring this new canvas, and I have been blown away by what I’ve seen."

Victoria's Secret Is Getting Metaverse-Ready by Filing for NFT Trademark

Lingerie giant Victoria's Secret has filed several trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office, which indicate that it intends to sell virtual undergarments, footwear, headwear, eyewear, bags and fashion accessories, according to trademark attorney Josh Gerben.
The company also plans to organize virtual fashion shows, according to its filing.

Snoop Dogg is converting Death Row Records into the first NFT music label

Snoop Dogg is taking Death Row Records into the metaverse.
The rapper/entertainer/crypto enthusiast has announced plans to make Death Row the first NFT music label. Snoop bought the label, which was founded by Dr. Dre and Suge Knight, among others, and which launched his career, last week.
“Death Row will be an NFT label,” said Snoop. “We will be putting out artists through the metaverse…Just like we broke the industry when we was the first independent to be major, we want to be the first major in the metaverse.”
