Why Hyper-Casual Games + SMS Text & Messaging + Social Casino is FIRE!
WHAT WE KNOW:
* The Market Indicators & Behavioral Consumer Trends we've identified. (just in the past week!)
>> [ hyper-casual gaming explodes! ]
Top Hypercasual games accumulated 6.3 billion downloads in 2020
- thanks jordan! https://twitter.com/mmarketingreads
In 2020 when the pandemic and lockdowns skyrocketed mobile game usage and revenue, the Hypercasual market accounted for 31% of global downloads with top titles in the genre accumulated over 6.3 billion downloads across both App Store and Play Store, according to Sensor Tower’s Mobile Game Taxonomy Report.
>> [ social casino mobile gaming crushes! ]
Casino was the second-biggest genre in the US in Q4 2020
- thanks kayleigh! https://twitter.com/StrangeGGaming
Casino proved to be the second-biggest earning category in the US for Q4 2020, according to Game Refinery's Casino Snapshot Report. For the three months ending December 31st 2020, casino titles accounted for 17.2 percent of all mobile games revenue in the US.
>> [ messaging apps are in a bind! ]
In 2021, messaging apps are looking to send a message about monetization
- thanks jacob! https://twitter.com/ImJacobCohen
If money wasn’t a thing, messaging apps would be living the good life with billions of users and engagement to their hearts’ desires. But money is a thing, and messaging apps have struggled to make it.
Without revenue streams to fund infrastructure during rapid growth, for example, one app — Telegram — has been issuing debt. Now its bill is almost due… to the tune of ~$700m by the end of April.
In a messaging sphere where everyone is pretty much offering the same thing, companies are looking to get creative when it comes to keeping the lights on:
Signal operates under a nonprofit foundation that relies on donations.
WhatsApp is now testing monetization features like payments, in-app purchases, and a version for small businesses that counts 50m users.
THE DOPE IDEA:
* Distilling the market indicators & consumer tailwinds into a dope idea.
The dope idea here is to leverage the super high engagement rates that are inherent to SMS texting & messaging apps, and quickly launch a hyper-casual game in the social casino mobile gaming category.
In short, build out hyper-casual social casino mobile games and let users play where they now spend most on their time on mobile devices — on SMS texting & messaging apps.
And in terms of onboarding, users can now skip the app store, app search, and app download model — and simply just start playing a game in ONE text.
THE BRAND EXECUTION:
* Taking the idea & amplifying that into tactical action. Development of the Brand IP, securing a legit Domain Name, then making it Internet LIVE.
Etymology, Insights, and Cultural Inspo behind the naming of Carta.
So why the name Carta?
The name Carta (in formal form, La Carta) in Spanish means playing card.
And playing cards of course are directly relatable to Social Casino Games.
What’s the inspo behind the Carta imagery?
The imagery in its design & simplicity is super straightforward as well.
Carta is laid out in a Boucherie Flared font in white, and sits on a background of black felt, common to card tables, with an Ace of Spades placed flush beside it.
